Project DescriptionBlogSpark was created to eventually be an alternate choice to Wordpress on the Apache Server Platform. It's developed using VB.NET but I soon hope to build an alternate version of the same software in C#. The database is in SQL Server 2005.
Welcome to project Blogspark, which we have a website at
http://www.blog-spark.com which is still underdevelopment. We will be making the project within the next few days, although the project is complete yet like we were hoping, which we were hoping to have site associated with the open source code available when the source goes live. The source is currently in VB.Net 2.0. We will consider making the core functionality available in other languages in the future. My original goal before doing any research was to clone word press, though once I researched word press, I realized that's a daunting task. So this blog is really just something I plan to use as a part of all my sites in the future. This version will be rather bloated, but I want to also make a scaled down version of the same tool. At the time of publishing this project, the source isn't complete. I need to still build the core that will handle the layout and skinning of the blog.. Probably one of the more complex issues. One of my specialties as a developer is understanding SEO, so that's an emphasis on this blogging tool. As I was planning the skin engine, I will admit it's similar to how skins work with DNN, but probably not exactly, I'm going to try to do everything on my own atleast for the first version, maybe I'll come up with a unique way to handle something or maybe not.. It's not always a great idea to recreate the wheel, or everything would be exactly the same.
